Kids can write! This is a great opportunity for kids to be published. All kids write, for school, for fun, or for someone else. But they don’t all get published. This is your chance. If you’re a kid under 18 years of age, you can be published in “Kids World: Reflections in the Mirror” this summer. Send your submissions, following the rules below, to my email, listed below, by midnight, April 30th, 2008.Here’s the deal. You’re a writer, and I know you want to do it. So, write a short story, article, or essay of up to 1000 words and submit it for publication in my collection of kids’ short stories “Kids World: Reflections in the Mirror”
The Rules:
- You must be under 18 years of age.
- Your submission must be between 800 and 1000 words.
- You must be the original author and owner of the piece you submit.
- Your story can be about any topic you choose, so long as it’s rated G.
- (NO obscene stuff, and keep the blood and guts gore to a minimum! — for my mom’s sake, she’ll be the final editor —)
- There is no entry fee for this publication, and there will be no monetary reward. You’ll receive a publication certificate signed by Kenton Verhoeff (that’s me) when I publish your book, and you can order a copy of the book with your story in the book.
- Send your entry in the text of an email to kenton.verhoeff@gmail.com with Book Summission in the Subject line of the email.
- Your Submission must be in my email by Midnight April 30th, 2008.
- Include your name, age, and an email that I can contact you after publication the end of May. (Hint: you may need an email you can access at the library after school lets out.)
If you haven’t started writing your submission, why not?
